Current Role & Responsibilities

I am currently employed in the role of Engineering Manager by Subsea 7 in Stavanger, Norway.   I have over 16 years of experience working as a geotechnical engineer, and currently have line management responsibility for the Rigid Pipeline Analysis and Design discipline.

The focus of this role is to manage the provision of Rigid Pipeline Analysis and Design engineering competence within Subsea 7 in Stavanger. At present this means I lead a team of Thirteen specialist engineers and manage the procurement of subcontracted services from service providers, consultants and universities.

I was the global technical lead for Subsea 7’s Community of Excellence for Geotechnical Engineering for five years. In this role I was responsible for providing expert advice on shallow foundation design and analysis methods, as well as pipe-soil interaction analysis and trenching.

During my time as technical lead I initiated a number of technology development programmes including a fully sponsored research studentship (PhD) at the University of Oxford and physical model testing at IFSTTAR in Nantes.  I still maintain an active role in technology development programmes, being a Project Manager for one ongoing research project.

I have experience in a number of different roles, you can find out more below.

Outside of working hours I try to enjoy all that Norway has to offer, you can look me up on Facebook or Linkedin if you are so inclined.
